General News

• ADC Technical Coordination Meeting [20160822]
  • DDM Report
    • Added 1.5PB of T0 PRODDISK. Cleaned up about 5PB of T1 DATADISK
    • Doubled link between CERN to RAL (10G->20G) as saturated constantly
    • Using bb8 tools for rebalancing across tiers - semi-automated
    • Gaining experience in RAW spillover runs
    • Working on automating the lifetime model - expect ~5PB to be eligible for deletion in next couple of months
    • Working on deploying alternative protocols to SRM and testing functionality (https, root, gsiftp) - still only 15% penetration
  • Added some Event Service monitoring to BigPanda web pages

  • MC Production
    • Grid full most of the week since last Monday, thanks to Sherpa 2.2.1 request (15% of the 800M events) and some big extension for CP groups (90M events)
    • Some DB access issues being followed up on
    • Working on a "on-demand" extension procedure to perform these easily at low-priority: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/AtlasProtected/ExtensionsOnDemand
  • Group Production
    • new cache last week (20.7.7.5) for AthenaMP testing
    • 20.7.7.6 being built now
    • Open-ended derivation production on data16 with 20.7.7.4
  • Reprocessing
    • Testing and validating new ID alignment COOL folders
    • Reprocessing of 2016 data scouting stream for trigger-level analysis will finish tomorrow
    • Finished physics_MinBias stream and VdM runs
    • New reprocessing of DRAW_ZMUMU with updated field maps ~200 runs - waiting for release of 20.7.7.7
    • New reprocessing of physics_MinBias stream for AFP with 20.7.7.7 as well
    • Testing rel 21.0.4
    • Physics validation sucessfully running with 21.0.3
    • Large (2B events) reprocessing campaign may be necessary for correction of bias in beam-spot since TS1 - being discussed. Probably only produce AOD and HIST

    • CVMFS_Stratum1_atlas was degraded - available now
    • Rucio services degraded due to monitoring issue
