ADC and ATLAS Computing News [20150818]
- ADC Weekly meeting
- MC Production Status
  - Grid has been running high, mostly with evgen (which seems to be taking more CPU than in the past)
  - Expecting large 1.5B request soon
    - An additional 0.5B in discussion - need to check timing requirements
  - Simul being submitted with 1k events/job - need to check that transient vs non-transient works for all cases and no increase in failure rate
- Derivation Production Status
  - Open ended derivation production on 25ns data (Main and ZeroBias) and reprocessed samples set up this week
- Reprocessing
  - Bulk reprocessing started last Friday - https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Atlas/August2015Run2Reprocessing
    - Main improvements are updated muon alignment (all periods: A,B,C) as well as ID and LAr alignment (periods A and B).
    - New beam-spots were derived for periods A and B
  - Few stuck tasks being investigated
- ADC News
  - 220k job slots filled last week
  - Transfer failures to McGill mentioned (low transfer efficiency to CA cloud)
  - Issues with pilot factories - config is taking hours to load.
    - Workaround - factories will be restarted every 12 hours, staggered
  - HLT reprocessing not progressing due to lack of fairshare - added processingtype=urgent
  - Some issues with deletions at BNL-ATLAS failing via webdav - switched to SRM
  - T0 export to RAL-LCG2_DATATAPE failing due to temporary overload - added extra disk cache servers
  - T0 export from CERN-PROD_TZDISK is failing with "could not open connection to srm-atlas.cern.ch" (GGUS:115680)
    - Related to configuration of number of active parallel transfers
    - Being discussed by FTS, castor, and data management team
