ADC and ATLAS Computing News [20150210]
- ADC Weekly meeting
- Rucio
  - Several issues caused a spike in transfer backlog
  - ~1M file backlog cleared by manual intervention, rebalancing
  - Reducing FTS3 rate (~10Hz) by grouping files instead of singles
    - Development needed here to handle multi-source jobs etc
  - Patches and development work to reduce state polling on FTS3
  - Development for FTS event consumers as causing database contention
- Distributed Analysis
  - Understanding Panda errors and improving monitoring
    - Data analytics in hadoop
    - Panda Brokerage Monitor broken
  - Group usage
    - How will quota/accounting work? Still no access to tape for archiving Run 1.
    - Need DaTRI replacement and soon
  - DQ2 / Rucio commands
    - Need to start educating users about rucio commands
    - Produce help Wiki pages (ala PAW -> ROOT)
  - Suspicious file
    - Have the mechanisms but need to start producing these again either during data transfers or due to job failures
    - Automate to cloud squads
