ITk
INTRODUCTION
This TWiki page collects the joint group activities of
SFU,
TRIUMF and UBC on the ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk).
CLEANROOM
Work at
TRIUMF centres around our class 1000 cleanroom in the MHESA building, L1. <!-- <p>Occupancy calendar -- please fill in in advance when you intend to go in the cleanroom:<span class="WYSIWYG_HIDDENWHITESPACE" style="{encoded: 'n'};"> </span><a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DJ0-cPHJEV-gFzgnMxwy_3oYXjkcBFxtcgx-zKlqz8Y" class="TMLlink">Calendar</a></p> -->
Entry procedure:
- Enter via the boot up room (not via the corridor), stepping a few times with each foot on the blue sticky mat
- Put on a hair net
- If you have a beard, put on a beard net
- Put on an over-coat (visitors: please pick one without a name on)
- Put on blue overshoes and step over the barrier. The black strip must be on the outside, under your foot; the loose end must be pushed inside your shoe so that it grounds you
- Stand on the ESD tester and push the test button. If it fails, clean your ESD shoe soles, or rearrange the black ribbon on blue overshos until you do pass the test
- Step a few times with each foot on the blue sticky mat before entering the cleanroom
- Clean any equipment you are bringing in by wiping with the cloths and solvents provided.
Departure: Put hair net, beard net, and over-shoes in the bin. Put over-coats back in the coat rack.
Contact: Phone number 6580, Grey room phone no. 6581
Monitoring: Grafana Monitor web-page
. Manual for clean-room conditions monitoring:
CleanroomMonitor.pdf.
Manuals:
ELog: Please use our
Electronic Logbook
to record events (such as power out, HVAC problems, changes, ...). Anything that in the future we will be glad of.
Printing: There is an HP
OfficeJet Pro 8720 in the gowning room. It can be accessed as clas22 on the
TRIUMF network.
Disk Storage: We have a large storage disk available for backups, photos etc. It can be reached from inside the TRUMF firewall at
http://itk-van-triumf.triumf.ca:5000/
or ssh
itk-user@itk-van-triumf.triumf.ca
Cleaning:
- Cleaning schedule 2021/22: Twice per month on Fridays at 5 pm. Details: cleanroomCleaningSchedule21-22.xlsx
- Please make way for the cleaner if you are working late on a Friday.
- To get waste bins emptied, simply put them on the dirty side of the change barrier as you leave. Bring emptied bins back in when you return.
- We are responsible for cleaning our own benches. Sergey has set up a list of who does what. Use the hepa-filter vacuum cleaner with the round long-haired head to avoid spreading dust, or wipe with cloths carefully.
ACTIVITIES
Weighing balance:
There are 2 weighing balances - (a)
Sartorius, and (b)
Scout. Calibration has been carried out for
Scout, taking
Sartorius as reference. It is found that for weights measured on
Scout -
True weight = Weight measured/1.0015. For details, please see
WeighingBalance.docx.
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM):
Please find the documentation on
CMM.docx.
Dry storage cabinet
We need to keep sensors very dry. Storage cabinet spec is that it should return to less than 10 % relative humidity within an hour of opening a door.
To minimise the exposure time to humidity, and meet the spec, please pay attention to the following:
- Minimise the time the door is open: please plan ahead, open only the correct door, have everything ready before opening it, and close it as soon as possible.
- After opening a door, turn the dry air flow up high: fully open the control valve, so the ball is off-scale. This gives 10 times the indicated flow on the top of the scale.
- After 30 min, dry level will be restored. Reduce flow to 15 bar l/min.
Note that in the event of humidity rising above 10 % for over 24 hours (or suspicion that has occurred) we should add a note in the data base for each item stored that this has happened (see "Storage Requirements - Hybrids, Power Boards and Modules", EDMS 2520892)
